Dear Colleague:
Hello, Im Dan
Baker, Research Director of Technology Research Institute.
Over the past five years, my firm has
specialized in tracking the telecom IT and OSS marketplace.
In that time, weve published seven telecom industry reports on topics such
as: Provisioning
Systems Integration
Telecom Customer Care
Wireline and
Wireless Carrier Billing Systems
Electronic Bill Presentment, and the Telecom Data
Warehouse.
The
Market Research Distribution Problem
When I visit my
clients, I sometimes see TRIs research reports sitting on some corner office
bookshelf.
And it makes me
wonder.
Are other people at
this company getting access to our research? Or
are our reports simply sitting on that bookshelf collecting dust?
Of course, the
internal distribution of market intelligence is a much tougher problem than it first
appears.
For one thing, a
large research binder is simply unwieldy to travel with.
Whats more, absorbing the information in a large 350+ page research report is
too much for one sitting anyway.
Whittling down a
large research report into digestible bites is a time-consuming task too. And the marketing managers whose job it usually is
to distill this information have their plates full already.
The
Telecom OSS Road Warrior Solution
Weve come up
with an answer to this research accessibility problem.
It's a new program we're calling the Telecom OSS Road Warrior.
The Road
Warrior is a portable, multimedia research service designed to help your
marketing, sales, engineering, and professional services people succeed.
With Road
Warrior, your entire telecom IT team receives its own personal series of audio
programs, CD-ROMs, booklets, and poster-sized "roadmaps."
A key highlight of
the program is the Telecom OSS Expert Briefings, 30-45 minute audio
interviews with eleven carrier,
vendor, and consulting executives.
In many
ways these audio briefings will be just like attending a conference except you can
hear the briefing as many times as youd like in voice, text, and computer
slide show formats.
Sharpen
the Market Knowledge of your Telecom Team
Since Road Warrior
is an efficient way of distributing market intelligence, it will simplify your life.
Just as important,
youll make life a lot easier for your front line troops. Theyll appreciate the fact that youre
supplying them with the information tools they need to succeed. And considering the high cost of talent these
days, that's money in the bank.
In short, Road
Warrior is designed to keep your telecom team on the cutting edge of industry
knowledge and two steps ahead of the competition.
Like all
of TRIs research services, Telecom OSS Road Warrior comes with our
guarantee of your complete satisfaction.
Dan Baker, Research Director
P.S. For a sneak peek at the Road Warrior, contact us for a free
10-minute audio tape. You'll hear excerpts from "Day in the Life of a Telecom
CIO", the first audio program in the Expert Briefing series.
As soon as we receive your Road
Warrior payment, well ship Day in the Life
to you as the first deliverable in the program.
Road Warrior
Briefings at a Glance
In our
on-going research, TRI interviews dozens of telecom carrier and vendor executives each
year. And in a way, the experts we interview are the ghost authors of our reports.
Its a special pleasure to
interview those rare luminaries who not only understand telecoms complex business
and technical issues, but who can also explain those issues in an insightful and
down-to-earth way.
But as hard as we try to replicate
the wisdom of those experts in our research reports, the sparkle of a live conversation
gets lost as its translated to the written word.
Is it any wonder that conferences are such a popular way for people to absorb
industry information?
In at least one way Expert
Briefings will be better than a conference you can attend as many times as youd like on your
laptop at 35,000 feet or in the climate-controlled comfort of your automobile.
Well interview some of the great visionaries and doers in
our market. And as you listen, youll be
able to follow right along in a PowerPoint-style slide show and later refer back to the
full written transcript. The length of each briefing will be between
35 minutes to one hour.
Eleven seminars are planned for the series. See the navigation bar on the
left to see a summary of each completed seminar in the series.
Additional Deliverables
Telecom
OSS Knowledge Base -- This is a CD-ROM reference guide to telecom OSS market & business knowledge. The content will draw heavily on TRI's published
telecom research studies which comprise some 2,100 pages of analysis and data.
Organized
using Microsofts HTML Help software, users will be able to drill down on hundreds of
subjects and hyperlink within the knowledge base and to relevant web sites.
Telecom OSS RoadMaps
-- Our
clients tell us the flow diagrams we publish in our research reports are among the most
valuable deliverables in our reports. The
beauty of these diagrams is they compress complex system relationships and market analysis
onto one page.
The
RoadMaps will take these diagrams one step further.
We plan to explode these two-color diagrams into poster-size and have them fold out
like a map.
By
creating a map, we will have enough space to insert text balloons that fully explain the
various boxes and relationships on the diagrams.
These text balloons will also be replicated on pop-up software.
The
four roadmaps currently available in the series are:
Marketing
& Sales Planner -- This will feature an array of information of particular interest to
marketing and sales managers. Presented in a
200-page notebook binder, TRI will deliver two copies as part of the Road Warrior program. Topics include:
-
Marketing Communications Practices & Advice
-
Building Successful Vendor Partnering Programs
-
Positioning your Company for Success
-
Telecom OSS Sales Practices & Advice
-
Leading Telecom Associations, Publications, Trade Shows/Conferences
