How did TRI investigate the market? Very
simply, we spoke with lots of smart people. In fact we
interviewed 69 marketing and telecom executives (in person
or on the telephone) for this study.
Think of it as one big focus group with dozens of people
in the room participating in a round robin discussion about
their business problems, needs, and future plans. Our
research approach is a lot like that. We simply
synthesize and analyze what we hear from those discussions.
The research was originally commissioned by eight telecom
industry companies. The carrier respondents came from
a cross-section of the market and represented the following
